wuz chatting with my uncle just now and i finally understood why he chose to be a resident in canada.
his words made me fall in love with canada, i should say, the people of canada. the canadians.

in canada, there are shops with 90 days money back guarantee. for unsatisfied goods. whatever is spoilt or even if you're unsatisfied with the colour of your furniture, you can return the goods and get a full refund. my uncle went to a shop with the intention of repairing an equipment, the staff in the shop gave him a brand new piece instead even though my uncle honestly told them that he has been using his for 3-4 years. me and my grandma listened in awe. if singapore has shops like these, they would close down in no time. everyone would go there to return their goods and exchange for new ones. in canada, very few people have mindsets like this. everything is based on an honest policy. how nice. the only people who return their goods very often for no valid reasons are mainly chinese.

what's more, if you think a 90 day money back guarantee is good enough, you haven't heard of the lifetime warranty. i am impressed. and what's more, canada is cleaner than singapore which i thought was clean enuff. crime rate is lower too (unlike US and many other parts of the world).

racism and discrimination are almost, if not totally wiped out (unlike in certain parts of england, uk, us etc). everyone there is considered equal. every citizen is called a canadian and not a chinese, indian, malay etc. gays, lesbians and all other minorities have their rights. the poor have nothing to fear as the unemployed and elderly will be taken care of and supported by the government. children attend school without paying school fees cuz basic education is fully subsidised.

Getting a canada citizenship is relatively easier than many countries too. All you need is to stay there for 3 years or more and you will be named a Canadian.

with the citizens being so thoughtfully taken care of, what else do you need? coupled with great landscapes and serenity, what more can you ask for? but however, living in singapore isn't too bad either. we are, compared to malaysia, hongkong, thailand, considered very clean. our grounds are safe, people do not carry guns around. in my opinion, singapore is one of the world's best gourmet haven. we have all sorts of cuisines, you'll never be tired of the food in singapore.

BUT.... i still love hongkong alot. *grinz*
